The program agenda includes breakfast, as well as a panel discussion about the innovative redevelopment of Nyberg Rivers, an aging shopping center. Panelists include Fred Bruning, CEO of CenterCal Properties, and Lou Ogden, Mayor of the City of Tualatin. The discussion will be moderated by CRA’s Alex MacLean.

The panelists will discuss the challenges faced by the developer and the local government, as well as the keys to their ultimate success. Learn how changes in the retail industry are creating opportunities to successfully re-develop older shopping centers at this ICSC Annual Oregon Alliance Program.

Also on the agenda, Mythbusters: Breaking Down Common Development Misconceptions. Panelists include David Berniker, Urban Design & Planning Director for the City of Gresham, Matt Bray, AIA, LEED AP at GBD Architects, Eric Cress, Principal at Urban Development + Partner, and Eric Schmidt, Community Development Director for the City of Gresham. John Southgate, Principal at John Southgate Consulting will moderate this discussion about the typical myths and misconceptions during the development process that can make or break a project. In a Q&A format, attendees will learn how to overcome these myths and create partnerships for successful development projects.

Brokers will earn two hours of Oregon continuing education.
